Counseling starts with relationship.
At Contigo, therapy isn’t about fitting you into a box, it’s about meeting you where you are, honoring your story, & walking with you toward healing. We are trained in various evidenced-based approaches so we can use the treatment that best fits your needs. These are some of the approaches that guide our work together.
Trauma-Informed Therapy
Your story matters, and so does the way it’s held. Trauma-informed care means that every step of therapy is approached with safety, choice, and compassion in mind. We offer a holistic approach, recognizing how trauma affects all parts of yourself - your nervous system, brain, physical body, relationships, workplace, and community. We take into account how your ancestral or generational trauma even plays a part in your functioning today.
We honor your pace, recognize the impact trauma can have on the mind and body, and create a space where healing feels possible without re-traumatization.

Relationship focused
Healing happens in connection. Whether working with individuals, couples, or families, we prioritize the importance of relationships, with yourself and with others. This means creating a therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect, and collaboration, while also exploring how your relationships outside of therapy shape your life and your healing.
At Contigo, one of our core values is collaboration. The therapeutic relationship between the therapist and client is an integral part of healing. We focus on relationship and connection first.

Types of Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Sometimes the past doesn’t stay in the past. EMDR helps the brain process traumatic memories so they no longer feel as raw or overwhelming. This evidence-based approach supports you in releasing the grip of trauma and building resilience, offering relief and a renewed sense of calm.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
EFT helps individuals, couples, and families move beyond cycles of conflict and disconnection. By tuning into emotions and attachment needs, EFT helps foster deeper understanding, trust, and closeness in relationships.
Parts Work
We all carry different parts of ourselves, the protective parts, the wounded parts, the parts longing to be heard. Parts work (inspired by Internal Family Systems) creates space to understand and heal these inner voices, so you can move toward greater self-compassion and wholeness.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Life’s challenges can stir up pain, doubt, and difficult emotions. ACT doesn’t ask you to push those feelings away, but instead to hold them gently while committing to values-driven actions. This approach helps you build a life that feels meaningful and aligned, even in the face of hardship.
